We had lots of customers asking us if we stocked Grass Seed so we decided to introduce it as a new product here at The Cobble Shop!

Our Range of Grass Seed Available

We have a range of both Miracle-Gro and Johnsons lawn seed available here at The Cobble Shop and each product has it’s own benefits so there really is something for everyone here!

Miracle-Gro Fast Grass Lawn Seed – 

Miracle-Gro Fast Grass Lawn Seed contains Headstart® Gold, a revolutionary coating that ensures rapid 4 day germination. It is a professional grade seed for superior results which are suitable for all lawn types.

Quantity Available – 480 grams box

Coverage Per Box – approximately 16m2 per box**

Miracle-Gro Shady Lawn Seed –

Ideal for creating a new lawn, over-seeding or repairing bare patches in shady areas. A specialist seed without ryegrass for a fine, dense lawn

Quantity Available – 420 grams box

Coverage Per Box- approximately 14m2 per box**

Miracle-Gro Multi Purpose Lawn Seed – 

Miracle-Gro EverGreen Multi Purpose Lawn Seed is a quality lawn seed for hard-wearing lawns. Allows for faster germination with superior results in  days and is ideal for over-seeding or creating a new lawn.

Miracle-Gro Super Seed –

The Miracle-Gro Super Seed contains a specially selected variety of perennial ryegrass that regenerates and spreads by itself to create a thicker, denser lawn. This special seed combined with slow release lawn food and soil enricher makes it the ultimate seeding solution for growing new lawns, thickening lawns or repairing patches.

Quantity Available –  1kg box & 2kg box

Coverage Per Box –  1kg box covers approx 33m2**. 2kg box covers approx 66m2**.

Johnsons Luxury Lawn Seed –

Johnsons Luxury Lawn Seed is a traditional fescue and browntop bent mixture. In past this was called a front lawn mix and it is designed to be a very fine and dense lawn ideally suited to being mown short, and with the correct lawn mower, having stripes. it’s the ideal mix for its appearance and will tolerate light use. The Seed booster® treatment on Johnsons Luxury lawn is child, pet and environmentally friendly and acts as a harmless bird deterrent too.

Quantity Available – 425 grams box, 1.275kg box & 20kg bag

Coverage Per Box/Bag – 425 grams box will cover approx 20m2**, 1.275kg box will cover approx 60m2** & 20kg bag will cover approx 800m2**

We always recommend using a weed control fabric underneath all aggregates to suppress weeds which could cause other potential problems. How To Sow Grass Seed –

  1. Dig the soil over to a depth of 20-25cm.
  2. Remove weeds by hand or use a weed killer.
  3. Add top soil if you believe the soil to be poor quality.
  4. Rake the area to get a level seedbed.
  5. Sow the seed at our recommended rate of 50g per m2, by using a seed spreader or your hand.
  6. Water the area
  7. Leave to grow
  8. Cut when grass reaches 3-4 inches in height. Please read box description first.

Delivery Information

All deliveries within Ayrshire, Glasgow, East Kilbride, Paisley and surrounding areas will be made with one of our own fleet of hi-ab. lorries. Please leave detailed information about where the goods have to be dropped. We operate a kerbside delivery but where possible will attempt to place your goods in the position of your choice providing this is within reason. We will not however take a lorry off of the public road onto a driveway for example without a damage disclaimer being signed by the customer first. Please ask for details of this when ordering and we will be happy to explain. All deliveries outside Ayrshire, Glasgow, East Kilbride and Paisley are subcontracted out via palletised carrier companies. It is your responsibility to advise us of any delivery restrictions you may have prior to the goods being despatched, along with your full delivery address including postcode and contact telephone number.
