Slate Chippings

Here at The Cobble Shop we have 3 different options when it comes to choosing your Slate Chippings!

Slate Chippings are an ideal addition to any garden or landscaping area! Slate is commonly used as a decorative pond substrate giving your aquatic friends a nice home. As always, we would recommend thoroughly washing our slate before using it in and/or around ponds to keep fish and other wildlife safe.

What Slate Chippings Do We Have?

We have two different colours of slate available!

  • Plum Slate
  • Blue Slate

What Sizes Do The Slates Come In?

Our very popular Blue Slate is only available in one size which is 20mm! This slate is a very popular option for pathways as it gives a flatter finish. Blue Slate is perfect for mulch, garden borders, pathways and is a great addition to ponds.

Equally as popular is our Plum Slate which is available in both 20mm & 40mm. This slate is s especially good for garden paths, rockeries, edging and borders and the 40mm is a popular choice for ground cover.

We always recommend using a weed control fabric underneath all aggregates to suppress weeds which could cause other potential problems. Delivery Information

All deliveries within Ayrshire, Glasgow, East Kilbride, Paisley and surrounding areas will be made with one of our own fleet of hi-ab. lorries. Please leave detailed information about where the goods have to be dropped. We operate a kerbside delivery but where possible will attempt to place your goods in the position of your choice providing this is within reason. We will not however take a lorry off of the public road onto a driveway for example without a damage disclaimer being signed by the customer first. Please ask for details of this when ordering and we will be happy to explain.

All deliveries outside Ayrshire, Glasgow, East Kilbride and Paisley are subcontracted out via palletised carrier companies. It is your responsibility to advise us of any delivery restrictions you may have prior to the goods being despatched, along with your full delivery address including postcode and contact telephone number.
